Mark Cliff
Executive Chairman

Mark Cliff is Executive Chairman at Brightside Group. He joined the company in May 2015. Prior to Brightside, Mark held the position of Chief Executive of Retail and Distribution at Ageas Insurance Ltd where he was responsible for all Ageas UK's broker distribution and affinity relationships, as well as Ageas's owned distribution businesses comprising Kwik Fit Financial Services, Ageas Insurance Solutions, RIAS and Castle Cover. Prior to Ageas, Mark worked at AXA Insurance, where he held the position of Markets, Managing Director, and was responsible for all distribution channels, commercial branch operations, as well as customer service and marketing. In his early career, Mark worked at RSA in a variety of roles for 15 years. Mark is also Deputy Chairman of BIBAs Large Broker Advisory Board and Vice President of the CII.

Ian Sutherland
Chief Finance Officer

Ian is Chief Finance Officer at Brightside Group. He joined Brightside in May 2014. Prior to his time at Brightside, Ian held a number of senior positions across the financial services, telecoms and FMCG sectors, including spells as CEO and CFO of Barbon Insurance Group. He has also spent time working as Finance Director for Equity Insurance Group and held various financial positions in over ten years working for Coca Cola Enterprises. Away from work Ian is a keen sports fan.

Edward Green
Non-executive Director

Edward is a non-executive director of Brightside Group and is an Investment Director at AnaCap Financial Partners.  Edward joined AnaCap in December 2007 and is an Investment Director in the Business Services team, where he takes responsibility for day-to-day engagement with portfolio companies. Edward previously led the transformation of, the now exited, Cabot Credit Management and is a non-executive Director for First Names Group and AssurOne Group.

Peter Cartwright
Non-executive Director

  Peter Cartwright is a non-executive director of Brightside Group and is Co-Managing Partner, Head of Business Services at AnaCap Financial Partners. Peter has spent his entire career within the Financial Services Sector where he held key leadership positions within successful growth and transformational businesses.   As Head of the Business Services team, Peter leads the Firm's engagement with all of AnaCap private equity fund portfolio companies, working closely with management teams to embed the key drivers of value creation into their businesses.   Prior to AnaCap, Peter was Commercial Director at a leading private equity-backed insurance services provider and, beforehand, held a number of senior roles within GMAC, where he led the expansion of the core operational models.  Prior to that, Peter was a member of the UK Consumer Finance division at GE Capital.

Neil MacMillian
Neil Macmillan
Non-executive Director

Neil Macmillan is a non-executive director of Brightside Group and sits on the Board of Allied World Assurance Company’s Lloyds Managing Agency and on the Board of their European Business.  He is also on the Board of Trustees of MacIntyre Care where he chairs the Audit & Risk Committee as well as being Chairman of their Academies Business.   Neil brings a wealth of experience in the insurance sector over the last 15 years, including six years at RSA Group where he was Group Executive Director of Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance and the last five years as a Consultant with Ernst & Young with responsibility for internal audit and risk management services to their wide-range of insurance clients in the UK and Ireland

Graham Donoghue
Non-Executive Director

Graham is a Non-Executive Director of Brightside Group and joined in May 2016. With over 20 years' experience in digital transformation spanning product innovation, technology, general management, digital marketing and operations, Graham brings with him a wealth of valuable experience. Previously, Graham worked for MoneySupermarket as Executive Director and Chief Product Officer -an eight-year career that saw him fulfil a number of senior and Board roles.

Russell Bence
Managing Director of Volume Lines

Russell Bence is Managing Director of Brightside Group with responsibility for volume lines. Russell began his career at Swinton’s, and fulfilled a variety of sales and management roles. More recently Russell has worked as M.D for Markerstudy’s retail division and previous to that, he was business development manager at HSBC insurance brokers.

David Sweeney
Managing Director of Specialist Business

David Sweeney is Managing Director at Brightside Group with responsibility for the group’s niche business and the Southampton and Torquay offices David is a member of the Executive Committee and Board. Prior to joining Brightside, David Sweeney was the Director of General Insurance and prior to that worked for Hiscox fulfilling a number of senior roles. He joined the insurance industry as a graduate trainee at the Royal, working his way up through the business to head up Royal Insurance Direct (now More Th>n), before leaving to join Independent Insurance and then Hiscox. David is married, has 3 children and lives in Essex.

James Jones
James Jones
IQED Managing Director

James is Managing Director of Injury QED. Since joining Brightside in 2006 as a project accountant, James has held a number of positions including Head of finance and Head of investor relations. Prior to his time with Brightside, James qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. Away from work, James enjoys playing squash and skiing with his two young children.  He also coaches an under-10s football team
